Janice Gail Davidson, 79, of Incline Village passed on October 28 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Walter and Virginia Koertge she grew up in Frankfort, Indiana. Upon graduating from Purdue University she married Robert Davidson and moved to Maryland where she received a masters and doctorate degree from the University of Maryland. They moved to California and she taught at several colleges. In 1979 she cofounded Davidson & Associates, an educational software company that went public in 1993 and sold in 1996. After moving to Incline Village Nevada she co founded the Davidson Institute for Talent Development focused on serving the needs of profoundly gifted youth. Among the institute's programs were the Davidson Fellows Scholarship named among the world's top ten most prestigious scholarships and the Davidson Academy at the University of Nevada named the number one middle and high school in the US.
Janice always thought of others first and believed in making a positive difference. She is survived by her husband, Robert, her sister Ann Barnes, her brother Walter Koertge and her children Elizabeth Davidson, Emilie Hoyt and John Davidson and five grandchildren. https://www.rgj.com/obituaries/pnvs0618520
