He did missionary work for Helping Hands International. Helping Hands sponsors people all over the seven continents. Primarly in countries that have difficult living situations. Roger was assigned to Romania, Albania, Georgia, and Russia. His purpose was to teach and preach. On Brown's Chapel Church of Christ website, it is posted on December 13, 2020 that Roger had been ill for some time before his death. There is a large note posted that reads:
"Arrangements for Mr. Roger Michael. No visitation or funeral will be held. He wished to be cremated. Any donations can be made in his name to Healing Hands International."
